Rome's Main Train Station Named After Pope John Paul II

Our forebears were keen to name important places after saints and nice to see this tradition continued. Just after Pope John Paul II passed away in 2005, Roma Termini was renamed "Stazione Termini Giovanni Paolo II." John Paul II had first arrived here in November of 1946. Benedict XVI first arrived in Rome in April of 1962.
