  2. Unfortunately, the flag is historically innaccurate. During WW2, the Canadian Red Ensign was defaced with the Royal Arms showing the maples leaves in green, not red.

  3. Mr MacLean is quite right: the maple leaves in the base of the coat of arms were changed from green to red only in 1957. Regardless, the Canadian Red Ensign is a glorious flag!
